Representative for Alaska's 17th District
Representative Tarr has been serving in the Alaska State House of Representatives since 2013.  She has Bachelor’s degrees in Botany, Environmental Studies, and Women’s Studies from Ohio University, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She is the Co-Chair of House Resources, and serves on House Health and Social Services, House Fisheries, and Joint Armed Services Committee.  Her personal legislative priorities include health and safety for women and children and she is a leader in efforts to end child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault, and create a safer and healthier state.

Representative Tarr is an Adjunct Faculty member of the University of Alaska-Anchorage, having worked in the Biology department for 20 years now. She also has experience as the Chief of Staff for Senator Johnny Ellis for 5 years and has also served as an Environmental scientist, independently conducting research. Tarr received her Bachelor's degree in Botany, Environmental Studies and Women's Studies from Ohio University. She went on to complete her Master's in Public Administration at UAA. Tarr has been Class President for the 2015 Western Legislative Academy, she was awarded legislator of the year in 2013 by the Alaska Youth for Environmental Action, and was named to the Top 40 Under 40 list by the 2012 Alaska Journal of Commerce. She also is the current member of the Airport Heights Community Council, and the Anchorage Women's Commission.
