Marina Parr is the Communications Director at Washington’s Workforce Board in Olympia. The Workforce Board is a state agency that monitors and evaluates the state’s key workforce programs and also provides leadership on policies that help all Washington residents get the education and training they need to obtain living-wage jobs. Marina is a former journalist who covered a wide range of issues at daily newspapers in Washington and Oregon. She also has experience writing for a Seattle-area marketing firm. At the Workforce Board, Marina helped launch and popularize the online career and education platform, CareerBridge.wa.gov, used every day by Washington high school and middle school students. When she’s not at work, Marina is often at a soccer field watching her two sons play the “beautiful game.”
