Kristin Mansfield has been employed as the state wildlife veterinarian with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife since 2002, stationed in Spokane. She received her Doctorate and Masters degrees from the University of California at Davis, bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and is TWS Certified Wildlife Biologist. Prior to coming to Washington, she worked as a wildlife veterinarian for the California Department of Fish and Game and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; as Veterinary Medical Officer with the California Department of Food and Agriculture; and in private veterinary practice. Her responsibilities as the Washington state wildlife veterinarian include wildlife disease monitoring and surveillance, disease outbreak investigation, and wildlife disease research and management.
