Celia Gould was appointed Director of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter and assumed her post on January 2, 2007.
Celia is an owner/operator of a fourth-generation farming and ranching operation, G+ Ranches, where she and her family raise Black Angus and Angus-Wagyu cattle as well as crops.
Celia has a B.A. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Boise State University.
Prior to serving at ISDA, Celia served 16 years in the Idaho Legislature. She was Chairman of the Judiciary and Rules Committee and was instrumental in the creation of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Correction as well as Idaho’s drug courts.
Celia also serves on the Retirement Board for the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). Celia received an honorary State FFA Degree from the Idaho FFA Association as well as an Honorary American Degree from the National FFA Organization.
